CBP Entry Type 01 is used for consumption entries. This is the most common
type of formal entry used for goods that are:
Simplified documentation and processing
make it efficient for high-volume, low-value
e-commerce shipments.
Lower filing fees, and a customs bond may
not be required, which brings down logistics
costs for e-commerce sellers
International mail valued at $2,500 or less, including former de minimis packages.
The owner or purchaser of the goods, or a broker they designate. I9 CFR 143.26(a).
A basic importation and entry bond in Ace eBond, plus HTS, origin and value.
AD/CVD and quota are not eligible. Anything over $2,500 goes to formal entry.
File an International Mail Duty Worksheet with
CBP by the 7th day of the following month.
Shipment by shipment, electronically, with no monthly worksheet to chase.
The shipment is commercial, valued over $2,500 and enters U.S. commerce. It needs a formal entry, a customs bond and CBP Form 7501.
The shipment is valued at $2,500 or less and does not require formal entry procedures. Filing is simplified, but classification still applies
The shipment is international mail valued at $2,500 or less, filed informally instead of the monthly worksheet.
